Born in Germany, Adolphe Ciezlarczyk had lived in France since childhood.  He worked for many years in a foundry, which certainly helps explain why he is mostly a sculptor.  However, Ciezlarczyk is a multifaceted artist, who has transposed his abstract esthetic into painting and printmaking as well.  Well versed in aquatint, his bright compositions, often nearly square, are printed in editions of 40 to 75.  While these works are meant to evoke, Ciezlarczyk does not depict.  He leaves that to our imagination.
