Framing & Shadow Boxes

Framing locationAt Gallery of Framing we offer an extensive range of mouldings as well as conservation and display solutions. We offer Professional Consultation that will help you determine what selection of framing will best suit your needs. Lori & Ahlene will examine your piece to be framed and then ask you a series of questions to determine all of your options.

There are different types of framing techniques available to you but Gallery of Framing would like to give you some of the guidelines and insight to some of the options that are available to you. After reading this section of our website you may still have some questions about the services that we offer. Please feel free to call us at 330-835-3046 and we will be happy to help you.

Preservation Framing Guidelines

  • Hinging materials must be easily removable and non-damaging to art.
  • All materials next to the art must be lignin and acid free.
  • The art should be away from any wooden surface by at least one inch or the wooden surface must be covered by an aluminum barrier tape.
  • Glazing should not come in contact with the art; an eight-ply separation is recommended, (a double mat).
  • Glazing, whether glass or acrylic sheeting should have ultraviolet filtering capabilities, to retard fading.
  • Any decorative techniques must be noninvasive and not harmful to the art.
  • A backing paper must be used to keep out insects and dirt.

Inside storeShadow Boxes and Display Cases
Creating a shadow box to keep and display your family mementos is something we love to do at Gallery of Framing. Medals or awards with a photograph of the person who earned them along with a name-plate, creates a treasure not just for today's generation, but also for tomorrow's. Wouldn't you love to have a box with military medals of your grandfather or great grandfather? What about the awards that your grandmother or great grandmother has won? What about the medals or awards that you personally have won? Don't you think your great grandchildren would love a keepsake like that to pass down to their children? Get those items out of the drawer or storage and allow us to put them into a display case for people to enjoy.

A display case is made to show a special object. As in a museum, the display case should make it so the collectible is easily viewed, provide protection and look beautiful.

We know how important these items are to you and your family, that's why at Gallery of Framing we treat every piece like it was our own. Allow us to make your piece of art become the treasure it is to everyone who views it.
